The Libby app is a free e-reader app that allows library patrons to borrow eBooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines from your library and read or listen to them on your phone or tablet through the app.

Kanopy is video streaming service known for its quality, thoughtful entertainment that includes movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema from the Criterion Collection, indie films and more. With over 23,000 titles to choose from, Kanopy also includes educational content from The Great Courses and PBS.

WVInfoDepot.org hosts a collection of online resources for use by all West Virginia residents. The resources provide information on a variety of topics for all ages.

Library patrons can use Universal Class to take a wide variety of online courses for free, enhancing their skills and knowledge in topics like personal development, business, technology, and hobbies.

Through the website, users can access over 500 courses, including everything from computer skills and accounting to creative writing and crafts. Many courses offer certificates of completion, and some provide continuing education units (CEUs).

With flexible, self-paced learning, Universal Class allows patrons to engage in lifelong learning, whether for professional development, personal interests, or expanding their academic knowledge.

TutorWV.com is an online platform that provides free tutoring services to students in West Virginia. It offers personalized, one-on-one academic support in subjects such as math, science, reading, and writing, helping students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Kids can use WVTutor.com by accessing live tutors, submitting homework questions, or reviewing lessons and educational materials at their own pace. This service is designed to help students strengthen their understanding of key concepts, improve their grades, and build confidence in their academic abilities.

 

Library patrons can use Ancestry.com as a valuable resource to explore their family history and genealogy. With access to a vast collection of historical records—including census data, birth and death certificates, immigration records, and more—users can trace their lineage, build family trees, and discover connections across generations. Patrons can access local and global databases to uncover ancestors’ stories, occupations, and even geographic migrations. It is a powerful tool for research, learning, and preserving family heritage.
