Community Bird Watching Day
October 12 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am
Join Jessie bright and early at the library for a birding adventure! From 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., Jessie will lead a bird-watching session around the library grounds. Bring your binoculars! Other useful items to have include a chair, camera, field guides, notebook, and pencil. There will be a bird-themed story walk to enjoy as you search for birds, along with educational materials and lite refreshments. We’ll be birding rain or shine, so dress appropriately! Birders of all ages are welcome.
Can’t make it to the library that day? No problem, birds are everywhere that you are. Take a few moments out of your day to log the birds that you see and help scientists understand bird migration. Every bird counted helps.
October is an important month as birds all over the world are migrating. It’s a pivotal time for people to participate in bird watching and contribute to scientific research that will help provide an understanding of bird movements globally. The better we understand birds, the more we can improve their habitats, which benefits everyone.
