The mission of the Shepherdstown Public Library is to inspire a lifelong love of reading and literacy by nurturing curiosity and fostering a deep appreciation for books from an early age. Through engaging programs, enriching resources, and a welcoming environment, the library seeks to ignite a passion for reading and learning in children.

Our regular programs for children include STEM Club, Story Time, Wild Wonders Nature Club, Crafternoon, Youth Chess Club, Middle School Math Club, Middle School Book Club, and Lego Club. Thursday mornings from 10-11 AM are Sensory-Friendly Calm Time in the Children’s department, providing a quiet browsing experience for patrons. Kanopy Kids is a streaming service offering a wide selection of educational and entertaining content for children, including movies, TV shows, and animated storybooks.

With a focus on learning and development, it provides age-appropriate content that fosters curiosity and creativity in young viewers. Some of the most popular kids’ shows on Kanopy Kids include *Sesame Street*, *Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood*, *Arthur*, *Franklin and Friends*, *Babar*, *The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!*, *Super Why!*, and *Curious George*.

And now, they’re all together in one easy-to-use database. You can use our picture books as the hook for the lesson, which will help your child – especially your visual learners – see math in a new light.

 

WVTutor.com is an online platform that provides free tutoring services to students in West Virginia. It offers personalized, one-on-one academic support in subjects such as math, science, reading, and writing, helping students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Kids can use WVTutor.com by accessing live tutors, submitting homework questions, or reviewing lessons and educational materials at their own pace. This service is designed to help students strengthen their understanding of key concepts, improve their grades, and build confidence in their academic abilities.
