The mission of the Shepherdstown Public Library is to inspire a lifelong love of reading and literacy by nurturing curiosity and fostering a deep appreciation for books from an early age. Through engaging programs, enriching resources, and a welcoming environment, the library seeks to ignite a passion for reading and learning in children.
Our regular programs for children include STEM Club, Story Time, Wild Wonders Nature Club, Crafternoon, Youth Chess Club, Middle School Math Club, Middle School Book Club, and Lego Club. Thursday mornings from 10-11 AM are Sensory-Friendly Calm Time in the Children’s department, providing a quiet browsing experience for patrons. WVTutor.com is an online platform that provides free tutoring services to students in West Virginia. It offers personalized, one-on-one academic support in subjects such as math, science, reading, and writing, helping students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
