Summary:

• Last day the Market House is open to the public:   Monday, June 20th.  All services are suspended as of 5:00 pm. 
• Last day to return checked out materials to the book drop:   Monday, June 20th.
• Ribbon Cutting Party:  Friday, July 22. 3:00pm  – 5:00pm.  (The library will NOT be open)
• Opening Day at the New Library:  Saturday, July 23rd.

FAQ:

Will the book drop be open while the library is closed?

No.  Regarding checked out materials, there are two options:

• Keep all checked-out materials until the new library is open.  All materials are due on August 8th. Fines will be waived through the month of August. 
• Return Shepherdstown Public Library materials to one of our affiliate libraries: Bolivar-Harpers Ferry Library, Martinsburg Public Library, Hedgesville Public Library, Musselman-South Berkeley Community Library, North Berkeley Public Library, South Jefferson Public Library, Paw Paw Public Library. or Morgan County Public Library.

How do I check out materials while the library is closed?

• Visit one of our affiliate libraries: Bolivar-Harpers Ferry Library, Martinsburg Public Library, Hedgesville Public Library, Musselman-South Berkeley Community Library, North Berkeley Public Library, South Jefferson Public Library, Paw Paw Public Library. or Morgan County Public Library.
• OR reserve materials using the online catalog and mark the pick-up location as one of the above libraries.

What is happening to the Market House?

The Market House belongs to the Corporation of Shepherdstown and the town council will make the decision.  We have asked for a statement from the mayor and are waiting on a response.

What are the hours at the new library?

• Monday-Friday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Saturday: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
• Sunday: Closed.
