Mountain SOL is collaborating with  the National Geographic Slingshot Challenge in helping to mentor participants throughout West Virginia, to create and submit their 1-minute video. The video must be centered around an environmental problem their community faces, and building solutions to slingshot our planet and communities forward!  The videos can be submitted individually, or in teams of up to 6 members.  Teen participants must be ages 13-18 at time of submission (can turn 13 by January 2024)  Videos must be focused on one of the five topics * Reducing Waste * Cleaning the Air * Restoring the Ocean * Protecting Nature or * Addressing Climate Change.

This project is part of a National Geographic International Slingshot Challenge, where participants will have the opportunity to create, collaborate and empower through their videos.  National Geographic will pick several winning submissions for large prizes. Mt Sol, will also be hosting a spring-time film festival in 2024 for all WV participants to be included in the showing, as well as music, food and give-aways, date TBD.
