The mission of the Friends of Shepherdstown Library (FOSL) is to work together with the Shepherdstown Public Library to strengthen and expand library services by raising funds for programs, developing community awareness and participation, and organizing volunteer activities.

FOSL members give their time, talent, and effort to the library. They mend and shelve books; create, organize, and execute fundraisers; and run a popular yearly book sale.
