The end of the Civil War in North Carolina was a powerful experience that deeply impacted survivors.  Historian Ernest Dollar captured this experience in his book Hearts Torn Asunder.  Co-sponsored with Shepherd University’s George Tyler Moore Center for the Study of the Civil War.
